The New Ninos

Hi, My family and I went go for lunch last weekend and we choose the New Ninos at Arabella, which is a new venue for hip restaurants and cafes. It is located in Al-Bidaa seafront. The weather was so amazing and we sat outside.

Nino is the ony restaurant alongside the beach, which is the best location of all restaurants that are there, in my opinion.

They have plenty of heater all around, so don't worry about feeling cold.

Because it was the weekend, the place was quite full, so come early to get a good table.

What is also nice is that it overlook the Boom, which my grandma enjoyed and began telling stories about our ancestors.

For starters, I ordered the Confit chicken and avocado salad. This salad is new on the menu and I like to try new things. I loved it and the dressing was nice and the pomegranate added some sweetness to it.

I don't remember the name of the dish, but the shrimp was yummy and crunchy.

You can tell we love seafood, because you can't go wrong with ordering shrimp, I guess!

I on the other hand had chicken liver and it was fried but really  nice.

This dish is the pretzel chicken sliders and it was on the starters menu, but I wanted it as my main course.
I enjoyed it, but I would have liked to have French fries on the side.

The atmosphere was refreshing and quite. If you haven't been there yet, I recommend you check it out.

Mustard for Dinner

Hi, I sense a strong passion in Kuwait for burgers these days and who doesn't love burgers? I wish this trend would last as long as there is.

I recently was home furniture shopping in Shuwaikh and Al-Tilal and I came across Mustard, which is located next to 52 degrees and I thought lets check it out.

They have an indoor seating area which was upstairs and an outdoor seating area. I personally preferred to sit outdoor, since the weather is amazing this time of year.

This is their menu of types of burgers, fries, drinks and shakes.

The atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing that night.

One thing I didn't like was the paper plates, cups and plastic forks. Dinning out is an overall pleasurable experience and the cutlery to me adds a lot to that dinning experience, even if it was burgers.

For a change, I decided to try the sweet potato fries and I loved it. I got some for my mum too because I knew she would like it as much as I did.

I ordered the chicken burger and it was truly yummy. The chicken breast was grilled and it was so tender. I am a bread addict and their bun was very soft.

Overall, I enjoyed the food and place and I recommended it to family and friends, since I was alone that day. But, one is never lonely with a good burger. Next time, I'm anxious to taste the beef cheese sliders.

Marshmallows Nail Spa

Hi Girls, who likes to pamper  and spoil herself? I know I do.
And that is why I love to explore new salons and nail spas and this week I decided to visit the newly opened Marshmallows nail spa.

I called and booked an appointment to do a hair treatment and get my nails done. The receptionist was kind to tell me about an offer they had, which was to get 5 sessions of the the Macadamia hair treatment for only 25kd. I thought it was a good offer so ladies, if you're interested, the offer still runs.

Marshmallows is located in Symphony Mall in Salmiya, next to Hotel Missioni.

And this is their entrance (At Mezzanine level).

As I entered, I was greeted nicely by the receptionist and she escourted me to the therapist who will be doing my hair. And of course, along the way I stopped to take some photographs.

These are the rows and rows of nail polish.

What I loved is that you can also pick out your favourite scrub for your hands and feet.

They had 6 nail stations opposite each other, 3 on each side and there was a TV set from the ceiling, accessible for both sides to watch.

And this is the hair station, where I got my blow dry.

My therapist was Fay. She is the best at the head massage, I literally doozed off.

As I was steaming the hair treatment on my hair, I got my nails done.

And of course, they were very hospitable and offered a hot drink and some tiny yummy marshmallows.

My choice of colour that day was Banana Mama from Essie.

Overall, the experience was great. The place was nice and quiet. The interior was modern and relaxing. The staff were very professional and welcoming. The prices for their hair and nail treatments were reasonably priced. This visit was my first, but surely not my last. Thank you marshallows.
I wish them the best and congrats on the lovely place.

The opening of Dondurma Booz for Turkish icecream

Hi, Do you like Turkish booza? Have you ever tried Turkish Booza in Istanbul?
If not, no worries. The essence and taste of Turkey is right here in K-Town.

I recently visited the newly opened Dondurma Booz for Turkish icecream.
My auntie loves it and she even buys packets to go from the airport as souvenirs for Kuwait, so I thought of getting her some.

Their location is in Salmiya, Salem Al-Mubarark street (leave AUK University on your right and continue straight and you'll find it on your left).

 And this the place.

They have a small seating area in the shop and a couple of tables outside,on the terrace.

This gave me flashbacks of the time I was in Istanbul. Take your kids and experience the tricks they will do on you, until you take your icecream cone. They're so good at it and its so entertaining to watch it being done on someone else, not me :)

There are 4 flavours: vanilla with chocolate chips, pistachio, vanilla and chocolate.

My favourite is the pistachio and chocolate. It's so yummy and rich.

Treat yourself and try their icecream.

Nail_Away in a Caravan

Hi Ladies. Ever felt like you don't want to leave the house or drive to the salon but you're in serious need of a manicure and pedicure? If yes, this post is for you.

I recently tried an entirely new nails experience. It was a nail Salon in a caravan at home.
You can't picture it, I couldn't either.

And here it is. It is a real big caravan. We were planning to have it park in our garden, but the space was not big enough, so we decided to have it behind our house in an empty space.

We booked it for my friend Dana's Birthday to treat her, like the princess she is. They greeted us nicely and sang happy birthday to her as she entered the caravan.

The caravan can accomodate two people at a time.

This is where they keep all the nail polish and they really have some nice colours and brands, like Saks fifth Avenue.

Please note: that the red rose petals are my addition! :)

We were offered tea and coffe and a menu to choose our kind of treatment.
We went for the luxury, because it included a hands and feet mask.

The products they used are from MeBath, which I love all the flavours of. We tried Papaya and chocolate.

We choose our movie and enjoyed the pampering. At the bottom corner, you can see the rake where they took off and placed our shoes.

This is their moto on the wall.

 My Dana being spoiled.

My overall experience was that I loved it. The therapists were nice and friendly and very attentive. The nails were neately and professionally done. The caravan idea was very new and creative to me.
The prices were quite reasonable for the service they offered.

A thank you note from the Birthday girl Dana on nail_away's comment board.

Follow them on instagram @nail_away and book for your next appointment.

Spa Time's new branch

Hi, I recently visited the new branch of Spa Time located in Kipco Tower.
I went with my mama and we booked a one-hour relaxing massage.

The spa is on the 40th floor (We roamed around a bit before getting in the right elevator, so ask the security which elevator to use). The entrance on the right is for men and on the left is the ladies.

This is the main reception. We were greeted nicely and given a  form, which we have to fill in with our information and medical history.

The place was nice and cosy and fragrant.

We entered the changing room and put on our bathropes and were escorted to our massage rooms.

Until this point, I wasn't allowed to take in my mobile phone, because it goes against the purpose of the relaxation. After the massage, we were taken to a comfortable recovery area, which overlooked AlHamra Tower. We were offered some ginger tea and green salty apples.

I loved their products on the sink, they smelled like lemon grass.

The overall experience was great. Both my therapist and my mum's were amazing (I even wanted to her home! loool). The place was my favourite of all their branches, because it was clean, spacious and quiet. I enjoyed my visit, and it won't be my last. My mum and I decided to treat ourselves, once every month.

Take a load off, and despress at Spa Time.
