Marshmallows Nail Spa

Hi Girls, who likes to pamper  and spoil herself? I know I do.
And that is why I love to explore new salons and nail spas and this week I decided to visit the newly opened Marshmallows nail spa.

I called and booked an appointment to do a hair treatment and get my nails done. The receptionist was kind to tell me about an offer they had, which was to get 5 sessions of the the Macadamia hair treatment for only 25kd. I thought it was a good offer so ladies, if you're interested, the offer still runs.

Marshmallows is located in Symphony Mall in Salmiya, next to Hotel Missioni.

And this is their entrance (At Mezzanine level).

As I entered, I was greeted nicely by the receptionist and she escourted me to the therapist who will be doing my hair. And of course, along the way I stopped to take some photographs.

These are the rows and rows of nail polish.

What I loved is that you can also pick out your favourite scrub for your hands and feet.

They had 6 nail stations opposite each other, 3 on each side and there was a TV set from the ceiling, accessible for both sides to watch.

And this is the hair station, where I got my blow dry.

My therapist was Fay. She is the best at the head massage, I literally doozed off.

As I was steaming the hair treatment on my hair, I got my nails done.

And of course, they were very hospitable and offered a hot drink and some tiny yummy marshmallows.

My choice of colour that day was Banana Mama from Essie.

Overall, the experience was great. The place was nice and quiet. The interior was modern and relaxing. The staff were very professional and welcoming. The prices for their hair and nail treatments were reasonably priced. This visit was my first, but surely not my last. Thank you marshallows.
I wish them the best and congrats on the lovely place.

Nail_Away in a Caravan

Hi Ladies. Ever felt like you don't want to leave the house or drive to the salon but you're in serious need of a manicure and pedicure? If yes, this post is for you.

I recently tried an entirely new nails experience. It was a nail Salon in a caravan at home.
You can't picture it, I couldn't either.

And here it is. It is a real big caravan. We were planning to have it park in our garden, but the space was not big enough, so we decided to have it behind our house in an empty space.

We booked it for my friend Dana's Birthday to treat her, like the princess she is. They greeted us nicely and sang happy birthday to her as she entered the caravan.

The caravan can accomodate two people at a time.

This is where they keep all the nail polish and they really have some nice colours and brands, like Saks fifth Avenue.

Please note: that the red rose petals are my addition! :)

We were offered tea and coffe and a menu to choose our kind of treatment.
We went for the luxury, because it included a hands and feet mask.

The products they used are from MeBath, which I love all the flavours of. We tried Papaya and chocolate.

We choose our movie and enjoyed the pampering. At the bottom corner, you can see the rake where they took off and placed our shoes.

This is their moto on the wall.

 My Dana being spoiled.

My overall experience was that I loved it. The therapists were nice and friendly and very attentive. The nails were neately and professionally done. The caravan idea was very new and creative to me.
The prices were quite reasonable for the service they offered.

A thank you note from the Birthday girl Dana on nail_away's comment board.

Follow them on instagram @nail_away and book for your next appointment.

Spa Time's new branch

Hi, I recently visited the new branch of Spa Time located in Kipco Tower.
I went with my mama and we booked a one-hour relaxing massage.

The spa is on the 40th floor (We roamed around a bit before getting in the right elevator, so ask the security which elevator to use). The entrance on the right is for men and on the left is the ladies.

This is the main reception. We were greeted nicely and given a  form, which we have to fill in with our information and medical history.

The place was nice and cosy and fragrant.

We entered the changing room and put on our bathropes and were escorted to our massage rooms.

Until this point, I wasn't allowed to take in my mobile phone, because it goes against the purpose of the relaxation. After the massage, we were taken to a comfortable recovery area, which overlooked AlHamra Tower. We were offered some ginger tea and green salty apples.

I loved their products on the sink, they smelled like lemon grass.

The overall experience was great. Both my therapist and my mum's were amazing (I even wanted to her home! loool). The place was my favourite of all their branches, because it was clean, spacious and quiet. I enjoyed my visit, and it won't be my last. My mum and I decided to treat ourselves, once every month.

Take a load off, and despress at Spa Time.

Sai Beauty Salon

Hi, my latest addiction is trying out new salons in K-town. And recently, i visited Sai beauty salon a couple of times and I liked the place and thought why not tell people about it.

To me first impressions are everything, as I entered the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
I went for a hair treatment and the therapist was so amazing that i almost doozed off (i went after work!). The place was clean and tidy and the towels especially.

This is their reception. They do sometimes take in people without prior reservation, but only if they're free. Preferably, book an appointement before you come in. This gurantees that you get your work done without having to wait.

This is their elegant and soft interior. The salon is also very organised and quiet too.

This is where the hair wash and hair treatment is done. To be honest, they have the most comfortable chair ever. It has a piece for the neck to rest and your legs get elevated.

Some of their popular hair treatments include: aloe vera and exculsively a hair treatment from Lush hair products. All hair treatments include a head and scalp massage.

 The nail station.

Another view of the nail station. All their services are excellent, but the nails are satisfactory I think.

Enjoy a complementary cup of coffee while doing your nails. (Nevermind the nutella, I bring my own snacks to the salon cos I know I will spend an hour or two.)

They have rows and rows of nail polished that leave you undecisive.

As to hair, I did three hair styles with two different hair stylist, and I liked all of them. Their hair stylists are very professional and they wouldn't let you go unless you are happy with your look.

As for the pricing: it is fairly and reasonably priced.
Most importantly, you feel comfortable at Sai beacuse you don't wait and you are respected and valued as a customer.

Try any of their services next time you have an occassion.
I wish them the best of luck.

Location: Yarmouk, block 3, street 3. Next to Gulf bank. In the basement.

Nails at Nailtini

Today I'm gonna write about my experience at nailtini nail bar in Surra.

Unfortunately it's going to be a negative review. I've been to nailtini many times through the last 3 years and every visit was a disaster but I decide to give it another chance. In my last visit, i wanted to do my nails but unfortunately I did not find an appointment in any of my favorite nail bars, so it was my choice. For a start, from the minute you enter the salon the staff will treat you in an unfriendly way. I asked them for a certain nail design which was simple & they start look confused and nervous & call for the receptionist (which didn't wear a uniform) who came and threw few comments made all of the staff laugh!
This made me really upset it was so disrespectful. I told her to cancel the design & just put on a regular nail polish. There was another customer who commented on the polish being old and dry. Most of the customers looked unhappy during their visit. The staff were chatting together alot which made the visit not relaxing.
The decor used to be nice but through the time they did not renovate so furniture was broken and looked dirty.

Its really sad that I had to write such a review. I wish if the owners would take care if their salon more and be nore strict with their staff which i'm sure will have many customers if they did because of its location. I only had to write this review after more than one bad experience with them.

The only positive thing about the place was the low prices. I guess it's because of the low service!

Polished Nail Spa

Ladies this post is foryou. I love having my nails done and hope you do too. I recently visisted the new beauty nail spa "polished" in Noor AlSalhiya Tower opposite AlSalhiya complex. Of courese, you need to go by appointment. The place is nice and quiet. You are first greeted by a nice receptionist that escorts you to your private station. As i entered, i saw the largest collection of nail polishes on the walls of the reception. Every colour is more appealing than the other, that its hard to choose.

The front desk

The wide selection of nail polish.

If you like Tom Ford, they have a collection of their nail polish.

The products they use.

Each client has her private area with a curtain to give privacy. The music in the place was calming, which helps give it this relaxing spa feeling.

They first give you their menu to select your kind of treatment. I went for the almond and honey treatment.

Then they ask which drink you'd like to have from this menu that is placed on the side table next to your chair.
To make you feel more comfortable, they cover your legs with a blanket and give you a warm bean bag for your back and one for your shoulders. I love anything warm, it makes me sleepy loool.

Thats my cappucino.

They open the tv and gave my the remote and a headset. I felt right at home.

Everything was clean and tiny and up to my hygiene standards.
I had two nail technicians, one for my manicure and one for the pedicure. They first scrub the hand and feet and then apply a mask and wrap you up for the skin. To help the skin absorb it, they put your hand and feet in a warmer, just like the one below.

I honestly loved the place. In my opinion, its the ultimate spoiling spot to do your nails. Girls try it, you deserve it.
