Nails at Nailtini

Today I'm gonna write about my experience at nailtini nail bar in Surra.

Unfortunately it's going to be a negative review. I've been to nailtini many times through the last 3 years and every visit was a disaster but I decide to give it another chance. In my last visit, i wanted to do my nails but unfortunately I did not find an appointment in any of my favorite nail bars, so it was my choice. For a start, from the minute you enter the salon the staff will treat you in an unfriendly way. I asked them for a certain nail design which was simple & they start look confused and nervous & call for the receptionist (which didn't wear a uniform) who came and threw few comments made all of the staff laugh!
This made me really upset it was so disrespectful. I told her to cancel the design & just put on a regular nail polish. There was another customer who commented on the polish being old and dry. Most of the customers looked unhappy during their visit. The staff were chatting together alot which made the visit not relaxing.
The decor used to be nice but through the time they did not renovate so furniture was broken and looked dirty.

Its really sad that I had to write such a review. I wish if the owners would take care if their salon more and be nore strict with their staff which i'm sure will have many customers if they did because of its location. I only had to write this review after more than one bad experience with them.

The only positive thing about the place was the low prices. I guess it's because of the low service!

Pizza Pino

I don't know if you're familiar with the Italian restaurant Pizza Pino in Paris, but its really popular. Its located on 31/33 avenue on the Champs-Elysees. As always the pioneering Dubai just opened a branch in Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashed Boulevard and I had to check it out. And this is my review of the place.

They have an oudoor seating area for smokers. As we entered the charming guy in the red uniform told us we have shisha and we totally laughed and looked at each other. "No thanks" Apparently shisha draws people in like magnet. My question is: what's Italian food got to do with shisha? They don't go together, I think!

Their menu had pictures which was very useful.

My all time favourite meal bread and butter. I really do believe that I could live off it. But food is far too good to give up and just live on bread and butter.

 This is the mozzarella antipasta.

And the chicken Caesar Salad. I liked the chicken cos it was cut into thin slices like it was turkey.
I noticed that their seving were quite big, good thing we were sharing.

I liked this dish: the shrimp fettuccini. It was creamy and not fishy.

Last but not least is the quattro formaggi margarita. It had yummy goat cheese, which i like. And the crust was thin.
Ooops, there was another pizza, but i didn't take a photo of it.
Overall, I liked the place and the food. But I can't decide which one i like best, the one in dubai or Paris? I would say each has its own atmosphere and mood. But handsdown, the company in dubai, made it the greatest Italian place ever. Thank you @mayariiii @hessaalmuhairi @aaalsalmi

Pizza Pino is located on stand point GF04

Breakfast at The Pantry Cafe

When i was in Dubai, i went to the pantry cafe for breakfast. It is a new cafe located on Alwasl square in Jumeriah Dubai.

This is their outdoors seating area. But because the weather was extremely hot, we sat inside.

And we are in the pantry.

The things you see on the pantry selves are for sale, from cookbooks to mugs and other cool stuff.

This is their menu, since its our first time, we simply ordered everything on it.

 My favourite, eggs benedict.

 Golden Omelete was nice.

The waitress sugggested we try their signature dish: The Shakshooka, which was eggs and tomato. I really didn't try it, but the girls liked it a lot.

For something sweet, we had the chocolate pancakes. I honestly didn't like the chocolate, it was dark.

This piece of art is their french toast. yes yummmy.

Last but not least, they have a selection of freshly baked croissants.

Summer is here and if you're ever thinking of going to dubai, try it. Hope you enjoy.

Chocolate Bar

In dubai, you know their malls and huge and you get tired of walking. I saw the chocolate bar cafe and I had to go in for some energy booster to keep me going. You know, when you travel there's no time to waste.

I liked the place, spacious and quiet.

They have a wide selection of cakes

 and chocolate.

Their menu had food as well, breakfast and other dessserts.
We ordered the fondant cake, it was as the picture suggests mouthwatering.

My order was a milk choclate shot for a quick chocolate rush. I don't know if its just me, but chocolate makes me happy.

And why wouldn't I be, I'm in Dubai.
Enjoy chocolate bar and dubai.

The chocolate bar is located in Emarat Mall on the 1st floor.

Yamanote Atelier

I recently went to dubai and tried a new Japanese cafe called Yamanote Atelier. Since i like to try new places, my cousins @mayari and @hessaalmuhairi took for some afternoon coffee.

It is a fairly small cafe and most people come and order puns or the yamanote croissants to go.
If you like pastries, you're gonna go wild. They have sweet and salty pastries.

This is the red beans pun, which i wasn't brave enough to try nor my cousins. It is new to me but I'm not big on beans altogether. (try it and tell me.)

And that's our order. Chocolate Custard character puns and one with strawberry and almond.

And this is their signature Yamanote croissant. Since it is the most popular and most demanded,it was actually out of stock and we have to wait for a freshly baked batch. But I must say, it was worth the wait. They were warm and delicious. It has custard and kiri cheese on top.

Yamanote Atelier is located in Alwasl Square, Jumeirah.
If you're ever in Dubai, pass by.

Stacks .. The pancake place

Since today was a holiday, my friends & I decided to have breakfast in a new place .. We chose Stacks. For a start, we were surprised that the place was so tiny .. Although you can see it from Istiqlal road highway 30 or Fahaheel highway .. it was really hard to reach. Its located in Bneid alQar.

Stacks has a wonderful variety of dishes .. We had the English Breakfast and the Stacks Lord Bacon which is mini pancakes topped with poached egg ... But without bacon!

The English Breakfast

Stacks Lord Bacon

As a finale, we had the nutella pancakes. The food was delicious .. I loved the pancakes, they were light & yummy.

I was bothered that it is a breakfast place but did not have coffee other than plain black coffee. It would be a plus to add other kinds of hot beverages. The waitress was so nice, we asked her to prepare a birthday pancake for our friend & she was so cooperative .. She also sang for her alone!

Thank you stacks for the good food, I will definitely visit you again, specially if you had a new branch.

Yikebike in Kuwait!

Laces n Places team and I were very pleased to attend and co-sponsor, along with Brush Cafe, the launching of a new sort of vehicle, presented for the first time in Kuwait: Yikebike! A light electric bike, weighing less than 15 kilos, made of completely recyclable material, fully charged in almost 50 minutes to travel at a distance of 10 kilometres. Quite impressive isn't it?
These were only some of the features the dealer of the bike, Mr. Ahmed AlShaya presented during the launch. In a very cosy laid-back atmosphere in Brush Cafe, guests were served drinks and refreshments, and  introduced to the bike through product catalogues, on screen, as well as in action. There were actual bikes in the cafe not just for display, but to be closely examined and taken out for a ride.
There, I had to put the light machine to the test! I was glad to have the chance to test-ride Yikebike. After an informative demonstration of the bike parts, their functions, the riding posture and safety precautions, I took off on the bike. At first, it seemed a bit difficult to control, it needed a bit of effort to gain balance, once that's established, riding becomes quite easy. Though Yikebike does not look like conventional bikes, having the handlebars on the side, this actually made steering it even easier, and created some sort of comfort and stability while riding. I was moving lightly and swiftly, and felt quite safe and in control as the brake on the left handle was very responsive to all maneuvers and stops on the way.
I was particularly excited because I support green solutions and believe that smart energy-efficient ideas like this one, are one way to lessen pollution, limit our extreme dependency on oil as a source of energy, and also provide space in our jam-packed roads!
I would say Yikebike to me was a very smooth ride. I could see university students riding it on campus, or people happily cruising around in the Avenues. I highly recommend using Yikebike for its convenience, its flexibility, and most importantly, for the environmental value it holds.
Here are some pictures of today's event:

I'm trying to apply the instructions
and off I go!
Done and pleased with the ride!

Laces n Places would like to take this chance to thank Brush Cafe for their hospitality and great service, their cooperation, and their efforts to make guests feel warmly welcomed. Thank you.
